the instrument views.

This example provides examples of how to set up the Pattern Generator to output PRBS-7 data at a speci
fi
ed data rate
using differential CMI voltage levels.
Connect the front panel cables
When connecting cables to the front panel use high quality coaxial cables with APC3.5 or SMA connectors.
Connect three SMA cables on the front panel as described below:
1.
Connect an SMA cable from the Pattern Gen Clock Output connector to the Error Detector Clock Input connector.
Terminate the Pattern Generator – Clock Output with a 50
Ω
terminator.
2.
Connect two SMA cables from the Pattern Gen/– Data Output connectors to the Error De/– Data Input
connectors.
3.
Power on the instrument.

Complete the following steps to con

gure the Pattern Generator.

Touch
View
on the control console and
then select
Generator
to display the
Generator view.
