7. Reference.
Set-Up
The Internet TV Set-Top Box can be manually configured using five Set-Up sections: Internet,
Email, User, Dialer and Printer.
Please note: once the box is properly configured and successfully connects to the
Internet, we strongly recommend that only experienced users access and modify the
settings, since mistakes in the configuration can lead to problems, like not being able to
connect, not being able to access your email account, and so on.
The Set-Up is accessed from anywhere in the system by moving the pointer and pressing the
Enter key on the remote control in the upper left corner of the Main Menu screen or by pressing
CTRL-ALT-S on the optional infrared keyboard.
You must restart the unit for the modified setting to take effect.
On any Set-Up screen you’ll consistently find four buttons:
Help - Displays the context-sensitive information pages.
Quit - Goes back to the Main Menu without changing the current settings.
Reset - IT WILL ERASE THE CURRENT CONFIGURATION and restore the factory defaults
settings. Next time the unit is powered on, it will display the Activation Screen described earlier in
the “Getting Started” section. You can use this option if you accidentally corrupt the settings and
want to automatically re-configure your Internet TV Set-Top Box through your current Internet
Service Provider, or if you need to change Internet Service Provider.
Done - Stores the settings currently displayed in the Set-Up screens in the Internet TV Set-Top
Box memory. The changes will take place next time the unit is powered on.
Internet
All the information relevant to the Internet access
can be specified in these two screens. The Teknema
Internet TV Set-Top Box is an open architecture
device. It does not require any proprietary software
on the ISP servers and it can connect to any router
and hub that supports PAP or CHAP for user
authentication.
The Basic Internet Set-Up screen contains the ISP
Point of Presence
Telephone Number , your
Account ID (the username used for router-level
authentication) and Password .
By pressing the Advanced button, you can access the second Internet Set-Up screen.
