4.3 Connecting manually without WPS
Before you start
Before setting up a wireless connection, you need to know the wireless settings that are currently used by wireless 5 GHz
Access Point, that is:
The Network Name (SSID)
The wireless key
The encryption type
What Network Name (SSID) and wireless key is my TG234 using?
If you did not change the SSID, your TG234 uses the network name and wireless key that is printed on the back panel label
of your TG234.
Forgot your wireless key?
If you have changed the wireless settings manually and you can’t remember your settings, try one of the following:

Use a computer that is already connected to your local network.
If no computers are connected yet, you can also connect your computer directly to one of your TG234 devices via its
Ethernet port, and then set your computer to a fixed IP address.

Browse to the TG234 GUI.

On the
Config
menu, click
Wireless
.

On the
CONFIG - WIRELESS
page, beside:
ESSID
, you can find the network name.
Encryption
, you can find the encryption type.
Passphrase
, you can find the wireless key.
What encryption type is my TG234 using?
The encryption type can be found on the
CONFIG - WIRELESS
page on your TG234 GUI.

To set up the wireless connection manually
Configure your gateway, or devices, or other TG234 devices with the same wireless settings (network name, wireless key, and
encryption type).
If you are using more than one TG234, use the wireless settings of the one in
Access Point
mode.
