6 Operation
Instructions for preparing an NGS libraries from either DNA or RNA are contained in the User Guide
for the specific reagent kit.
Preparation of the Sample Deck assembly and reagent cartridge handling precautions are explained
in the specific reagent kit user guides. Please refer to these instructions.

Loading the Sample Deck and Reagent Cartridge
Load the samples and magnetic beads into row 1 of the PCR tubes in the tube carrier/sample deck as
described in the Reagent Kit user guide.
From the Start screen press
“Start” followed by “Confirm” that you have assembled and loaded
samples and magnetic beads as shown on screen.
On initial use, after installation, the instrument will release the front door after approximately 30 s and
open slightly. Pull the door down to the open position. On starting subsequent library preparations, the
door will open almost immediately.
When the front door of the MagicPrep NGS
instrument is open, do not insert your hand(s) into
the instrument.
