3. Push to Talk [PTT]
To transmit depress and hold the PTT key
(3) at left side of the set. The sensitivity of
the built-in microphone has been set to
give good results speaking normally at a
distance of 5-10 cm.
4. Selector Keys [

The desired volume level can be adjusted
by pressing one of the selector keys [
▲ ▼
].
The volume level will be indicated at the
display symbol (5). Combined with the
function key [F] (5) and selector keys [
▲
▼
] (10+11) different settings can be
selected.
5. Display Backlight / Monitor Key
Press this key (7) momentarily to light up
the backlight of display. Press and hold a
few seconds to check current volume
level or to hear all weak signals on
matched channel. Backlight wil not illu-
mine the display while in hold PTT mode.
6. Function Key [F]
Press and release this key (5) to get var-
ious function modes. The press one of
the selector keys [
▲ ▼
] to set functions
whose mode is being activated with flash-
ing icons. A longer than 5 sec press on
the function key can activate KEY LOCK
mode during which all setting remain
fixed to prevent accidental changes of
decided settings. To cancel the Key Lock
mode press the function key for more
than 5 sec till the key lock icon disap-
pears from the display.
