Changing the sewing direction
To change the sewing direction, guide
the fabric in the desired direction while
sewing. Whenever you want to "turn a
corner", proceed as follows:
1. Turn the hand wheel to the front
until the needle is at its lowest posi-
tion and is sticking into the fabric.
2. Raise the presser foot.
3. Rotate the fabric around the needle
(as an axis) in the desired direction.
4. Lower the presser foot and continue
sewing in the desired direction.
Reverse sewing
When reverse sewing, the fabric is fed
towards you.
Reverse sewing can be used to reinforce
the beginning and the end of a seam.
1. Lower the reverse-sewing lever and
hold it down.
2. Press the foot pedal.
3. To resume sewing forwards, release
the reverse-sewing lever.
Using the hem guide
Carefully insert the hem guide from the
right-hand side into the slot in front of
the presser foot lever.
