SAFETY EQUIPMENT – Seats
Reclining the Seats
The front seatbacks recline, allowing the driver and passenger to adjust the
seatback angle for proper seat belt position or to rest comfortably while the
vehicle is stopped.
To adjust the seatback angle, raise the recline adjustment lever, 1, and move the
seatback to the desired position. Once the lever is released, verify the seatback
is locked in position by trying to lean forward or back.
Adjusting the Seat Height (If Equipped)
Some seats are equipped with an optional adjustment to change the height of the
seat to accommodate taller or shorter occupants.
To adjust the height of the seat, lift the height adjustment lever, 2, until the
desired seat height is obtained.

WARNING
Do not drive with the seat in the reclined position, otherwise
loss of vehicle control may occur and cause an accident. While
driving, always sit against the seatback, in the upright position.
Reclining the seatback reduces the effectiveness of the seat
belt and increases the risk of injury or death in the event of an
accident.
