Preparing the remote control
Installing the batteries
1. Open the cover on the back.
2. Paying attention to the +/– orientation, insert two
AAA batteries.
3. Close the cover.
When to change the batteries
If the distance that operation is effective becomes shorter
or pressing the keys does not have any effect, replace both
batteries with new ones at the same time.
Cautions about the use of batteries
Misuse of a battery could cause it to leak, rupture or
otherwise be damaged. Please read the precautions on the
batteries and on page 4 of this manual.
Cautions about the use of the remote control
When using other equipment that can be controlled by
•
infrared signals, the remote control for this unit could
operate them accidentally.
Use the remote control within the following range.

Directly in front: Within 7 meters
15° left or right: Within 7 meters
Setting remote control operation
When using more than one of these units at the same time,
in order to prevent misoperation when using a remote
control, you can use a menu setting to prevent a unit from
responding to the remote control, with the exception of
some keys.
1. Press the
MENU
key on the main unit or on the
remote control.
2. Use the
MULTI JOG
dial on the main unit or the +/–
keys on the remote control to select
“
IR REMOTE?
”
3. Press the
MULTI JOG
dial on the main unit or the
ENTER
key on the remote control.
4. Use the
MULTI JOG
dial on the main unit or the +/–
keys on the remote control to select “Disable.”
5. Press the
MULTI JOG
dial on the main unit or the
ENTER
key on the remote control.
NOTE
The MENU, –, +, ENTER and ESC/CLR keys on the
•
remote control always function.
If you select “Enable” in step 4 of the above proce-
•
dures, you will be able to operate the main unit by
the remote control again.
