7 - Various settings
Setting the quantization bit depth
The quantization bit depth used when recording can be set.
Setting items (default value underlined)

32-bit float
This unit supports 32-bit float recording. Files recorded using
32-bit float have the following advantages when being edited
afterward.
o
The levels of quiet sounds can be raised without changing
their original sound qualities.
o
Sounds that seem clipped can be restored to unclipped
sounds by lowering their volumes.
CAUTION
Analog clipping will not be changed when volume is lowered.
7 - 3 Setting recording file names
Files for data recorded by this unit are named according to the following
rules.

The format used for the characters added to file names can be set.
Setting items (default value underlined)
TEXT / DATE / UNIT NAME
TEXT: Chosen characters (6) are used for the file name.
Example: DR0000_0001.wav
DATE: The 6-digit date is used for the file name.
Example: 110101_0001.wav
UNIT NAME: The name of the individual device is used for the file
name.
Example: DR-10LPro_0001.wav

TIP
o
When recording a TV drama or play, for example, setting TEXT or
UNIT NAME to the individual names of each performer can make
identification easier when managing files and editing.
o
If DATE is selected, the file name will be created using the date and
time of the unit’s internal clock. Set the clock in advance to enable
recording with the correct date and time.
NOTE
o
Use the Menu Screen 13: TEXT item to set the TEXT characters. See
“Setting TEXT” on page 25 for setting procedures.
o
The UNIT NAME must be set in advance using the dedicated control app.
See the manual for the dedicated control app for setting procedures. If
the UNIT NAME has not been set, “DR-10LPro” will be used for file names.
