3–Recording
4 Press the
STOP/HOME
key to display the Home
Screen.
5 Press the
REC/PAUSE
key to enable record
standby.
The key flashes red and the display shows the
Record Screen.
When set to record standby, you can monitor
the input signal in the headphones.
6 Use the INPUT volume control on the right
side panel to adjust the microphone input level.
The input level is shown by the L/R meter on
the Record Screen. If the input level is too high,
a mark remains at the right end of the bar and
the red
PEAK
indicator next to the screen lights.
Set the level so that the
PEAK
indicator does
not light.
TIP
In addition to adjusting the INPUT volume, try
adjusting the distance between the microphone
and the sound source as well as the microphone
angle. The distance and angle can also change the
character of the sound.
7 Use the
OUTPUT VOLUME (+, –)
keys as
necessary to adjust the monitor volume.
8 Press the
REC/PAUSE
key again to start
recording. The key lights red.
