SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR LOG SAW

-

Before use, the Log Saw should be placed on a flat, stable surface, capable of supporting
the weight of the appliance and work piece, and any additional pressure caused by work-
ing on it.

-

Before using the appliance, carefully check that it will operate properly and perform its
intended function. Check for damaged parts and any other conditions that may affect the
operation of this appliance. Replace or repair damaged or worn parts immediately.

-

Check all guards for proper operation before each use. Never disable any guards. Do not
operate the Log Saw if the Guard Assembly does not move freely and close instantly. Be-
fore each use, raise the Guard Assembly and make sure it moves freely and does not
touch the Saw Blade or any other part.

-

Keep the appliance in good working condition. If the appliance is damaged, have it re-
paired before operating. Poorly maintained appliance will cause accidents.

-

Do not force the Log Saw. Use the correct Log Saw for your application. The correct ma-
chine will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.

-

Do not force material into the Saw Blade when cutting. Apply moderate pressure, allow-
ing the Saw Blade to cut without being forced.

-

The clutch operation lever of the tractor must be in the neutral and keep the blade
stopped before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the appliance.
Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the appliance accidentally.

-

Keep the blade sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting blade with sharp cutting
edges is less likely to bind and is easier to control.

-

Use the appliance, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these instructions,
taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Using this ap-
pliance for applications different from those intended may result in a hazardous situation.

-

Maintain labels on the appliance. These carry important safety information.

-

Do not use the appliance for cutting metals or brittle materials. Do not cut dangerous
materials, such as asbestos which can cause harmful dust or vapors

-

Allow the Saw Blade to spin up to full speed before feeding wood into it. When turning it
off, allow the Saw Blade to spin down and stop on its own. Do not press against the Saw
Blade to stop it.

-

Never pass hands directly over the Saw Blade when cutting the work piece.

-

Never attempt to remove material stuck in the moving parts of the Log Saw while it is
plugged in and running.

-

Always feed the wood stock into the Saw Blade and against its rotation.

-

Use a Roller Stand (not provided) with larger wood stocks if necessary. Holding the work
piece by hand or against your body is unstable and may lead to loss of control. Make sure
the wood stock is supported at all times while sawing.

-

Make sure the wood stock is free from loose knots, flaws, nails, and from any other for-
eign objects that could damage the Saw Blade or cause ”kickback”

-

Always use the proper size and type of Saw Blade.

-

Never perform layout, assembly, or setup work on the table of the Log Saw when the ap-
pliance is running.

-

Have your appliance serviced by an authorized service center using only original re-
placement parts. This will ensure the safety of the appliance.

-

The clutch operation lever of the tractor must be in the neutral before performing any
maintenance or cleaning procedures such as leaving the work area, moving the appliance
from one location to another, changing Saw Blades, cleaning sawdust from the unit, etc.

-

Store the idle Log Saw out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar
with the appliance or these instructions to operate the appliance. The appliance is dan-
gerous in the hands of untrained users.
