Install a 3mm bolt into one side of the horns to keep them aligned, fit a back plate, and push the
horns part way though the rudder. Mix up some 30 minute epoxy and liberally coat the rough area
of the horn and the back plate with the glue. Get as much glue into the slot as you can manage.
Tip: - a thin piece of scrap carbon rod works really well for getting the epoxy down into the slots.
Fit the other back plate and coat that with glue too. Squeeze the back plates down onto the
exposed wood surface. Fit a second bolt through the other side of the horns.
This next step is crucial to ensure that your geometry is correct and you will end up with equal throw
from your rudder servos in both directions.
Take a ruler or calliper gauge and measure across the centreline of the outside holes on the horns. In
our case it was 90mm.
