deformation of the fan. The flexible connection has to correspond with the temperature/time
classification of the fan and must be able to take the operating pressure of the fan. Make sure
the fan impeller is rotating freely.
Each risk to unintendedly touch the impeller has to be avoided (risk to
damage the impeller!), for example by using a long enough duct or protection
guard.
Electrical installation
The electrical connection has to be done in accordance with valid regulations
and only by authorized and trained personnel. In case of unprofessional
electrical connection the Systemair warranty becomes invalid. This risk is
completely with the operator.
The energy supply to fan type WVI is done by a silicone cable in the cooling duct. Fan type
WVA is connected to the terminal box of the motor.
The electrical wiring has to be of a quality to ensure an uninterrupted power
supply also in case of fire. The cable may not touch the casing at any place or
may not be fixed at the casing.
Check that the mains supply corresponds with the data on the fan name plate. A wiring
diagram is attached to the documentation. Another wiring diagram is fixed to the lid of the
terminal box. Electrical data are attached to these instructions and can also be found on the
name plate of the fan (at the fan casing).
As the motors are supplied without thermal protection, motor protection devices have to be
provided at site. Should a frequency inverter be used for daily ventilation purposes, the motor
has to have a built in thermal protection.
In order to make sure that the fan will be working in any case, all motor
protection devices have to be bridges in case of a fire.
5.0 INITIAL OPERATION
Before initial operation carefully read through the operating instructions and check the
following:

Unit is correctly installed (fixing, eventual deformations)
•
Tightness of all connections
•
Remove residues from mounting and any foreign objects from within the fan and in the
connected duct
•
Safety devices are mounted
•
Correct electrical installation
Then start the fan for a short period of time and disconnect it again, to check the direction of
rotation. The direction of rotation has to correspond with the arrow on the casing. There is a
glass covered inspection hole at the fan casing for this purpose.
For initial operation wear protection glasses (the eyes could be hurt by dust
or any residues from within the fan).
