Fans of type WVI may be installed in a room, at the inner side of an external wall or at an

inner wall. When using a bracket to mount the fan at the inner side of an external wall,
use two steel brackets mounted to the wall. Do not use any flexible joints and mount it
firmly to an outlet flange which is protruding the external wall and connect it with a cooling
duct manufactured from steel; the length of the outlet flange inside the room may have a
maximum length of 100 mm. The cooling duct has to be insulated in accordance with fire
resistance class L30 for fire resistant ventilation ducts to DIN 4102.  The steel brackets
have to consist of  U- or I-profile with a minimum height of 80 mm and have to have a
diagonal support made of the same profile. Fixing to the wall has to be done with
approved and fire resistant dowels or the wall has to be protruded. Steel brackets without
diagonal support may be used when the brackets at their free end are suspended from
the ceiling with maximum 1000 mm long fire resistant suspensions. Fans can also be
mounted on a supporting frame manufactured from U- or I-profile with min. 80 mm profile
height and a free height of maximum 1000 mm, which has to be fixed to the floor.

 .

For all installation methods consider the dimensions of the fan and an
eventual expansion of the parts by changes in temperature (provide
flexible connections in accordance with required temperature/time
classification)!

When mounted outside, the inlet flange and the cooling duct have to be secured with bird
screen and weather protection.

Fans of type WVA have to be installed outside the fire zone; those fans are approved only

for installation outside on external wall. Place the fan on two steel mounting brackets,
fixed securely to the external wall. Connect the fan at the upper side with a smoke extract
duct lead through the external wall. The steel brackets have to consist of  U- or I-profile
with a minimum height of 80 mm and have to have a diagonal support made of the same
profile. Fixing to the wall has to be done with approved and fire resistant dowels or the
wall has to be protruded. The outlet flange has to be provided with a bird screen and a
weather protection.

For all installation methods consider the dimensions of the fan and an
eventual expansion of the parts by changes in temperature (provide
flexible connections in accordance with required temperature/time
classification)!

Smoke extract fans of type WVA/WVI have to be installed in horizontal position, motor

pointing downwards.

Fix the fans with the help of 4 screws at the corners of the brackets or the mounting

device;

•

Take care that the casing of the fan is not being deformed during installation;

•

Make sure that the impeller is rotating freely .

4.4 Installation instructions

Installation of the air ducts

The fans can be connected to either round or rectangular ducts at the inlet side. Circular
connections for flanges of the duct in accordance with DIN 24154 R3. We recommend to
install a certified flexible connection between fan and air duct, to avoid any tensions or
