4.0  MOUNTING INSTRUCTION

4.1  Before mounting

Each fan undergoes a careful inspection at the factory before shipment.

After having removed the packing and before starting to mount the fan, check the following:

•

Are there any transportation damages

•

Manual test to make sure the impeller is moving without obstructions

•

4.2  Safety advices for mounting, initial operation, maintenance and service

Mounting and electrical connection may only be done by authorized and
trained personnel and in accordance with valid regulations.
Each risk to unintendedly touch the impeller has to be avoided (risk to
damage the impeller!), for example by using a long enough duct or protection
guard.
The fan shall be started and operated only after it has been installed into the
ventilation system or after a protection guard has been installed (SS-EN 294).
After the fan has been installed, it should be impossible to touch any moving
parts.
During mounting, initial operation, maintenance and control the mounting site
has to be protected in a way that unauthorized people do not have access.
Any risk to touch the impeller without the intention to do so during above
mentioned work has to be excluded (switch off the fan and secure against re-
start).
Only when this risk is excluded, and only when necessary, protection guards
already mounted to the fan on arrival either at the inlet or outlet may be
removed.
All general rules regarding safety of work have to be respected.

4.3  Mounting of the fan

•

Mounting of the fan is shown on attached sketches; access to the fan for maintenance
purposes has to be possible at any time.

•

Fans of type  WVI / WVA may never be installed in explosion hazardous areas.

•

Fans of type WVI may be installed within the fire zone

•

Cooling air t

40°C to cool the motor has to reach the cooling duct of the motor. In case

the fan can not take the cooling air from the direct surrounding (1m straight, insulated
duct), any duct pressure losses have to be overcome with an additional auxiliary fan (see
table):
