1. Introduction
This manual describes the operation and the
programmable features of 1022K and 1022R Bar code
Slot Readers. The two models both have bar-code
decoder built in, and they are different mainly in the way
how data is transmitted (transmission interface).
1022K is a wedge (keyboard emulation) slot reader
which transmits the decoded data to the computer
through the keyboard interface, whereas the 1022R
transmits the decoded data to the computer through
RS-232 interface.
Besides the basic functions, the 1022 also provides
various
features
to
accommodate
versatile
environments and application requirements. These
features can be programmed by reading special bar
codes and may be reconfigured at any time to account
for changing requirements. With a built-in memory
backup circuitry, these settings can be kept during
power down and are automatically restored upon
powering on the 1022.
Where "1022" appears in this document represents
both the 1022K and 1022R. And all the information
contained in this manual apply to both models unless
otherwise specified.
