Operating the Terminal
The default cursor formats can be modified by an application.
Using the Integrated Scanner
The integrated scanner uses the yellow scan button above the keyboard for easy scanning by
left- or right-handed operators. To scan:
1. Verify the system is on. The LED lights red if scanning is enabled and the laser is on.
2. Point the PDT 3400 at the bar code and press the scan button as shown in
Figure 9-4.

3. Ensure that the scan beam crosses all bars and spaces on the symbol, as shown below.
4. The thin, red laser beam must cover the entire length of the bar code.
