Populating the topology database
Adding nodes and objects
To edit a monitoring interface on a 7100 Series node

On the Devices tab, right-click an existing monitoring interface object, and
click
Edit
on the pop-up menu.

Edit Monitoring Interface
, optionally enter a descriptive name.

Customer ID
, optionally enter a Customer ID.

In
Expected Throughput
, click the expected throughput on the pull-down
list.

In
TCP Reset Interface
, click the reset interface on the pull-down list.
The reset interface must be cabled to access the monitored network. See the
Symantec Network Security 7100 Series Implementation Guide
.

Description
, enter an optional description of up to 255 characters, and
click
OK
.

Note:
Click
Topology
>
Save Changes
before quitting the Network Security
console. You will lose any unsaved changes when you exit.

About the Networks tab
The Networks tab lists the networks that this interface monitors. Replace the
default entry with valid monitored networks before starting a sensor on the
interface.
