Ground spotlight „Messina“
Use in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions
The ground spotlight can be equipped with an E27 bulb (type “PAR30”) with max. 100 W.
It serves for illumination in indoor and outdoor areas. The product can be bolted
down, e.g. on a concrete base or the like, using the pre-mounted foot.
Any other use than that described above may damage the product. Moreover, this
may give rise to hazards such as short-circuiting,

re, electric shock, etc. No part of the
product may be modi
fi
ed or converted!
The safety instructions must be observed at all times!

Keep a minimum clearance between the light outlet and the illumi-
nated areas (e.g. easily

ammable objects such as curtains or the
like). The appropriate minimum distance is speci

ed on the bulb
(in the illustration to the left, the minimum distance is 0.5 m).
Defective safety glass must be replaced immediately; if the safety
glass is defective the product must not be used.

The product is suitable for use outdoors.

Safety Instructions
Read the complete operating manual carefully before using the product,
as it contains important information about the correct installation and
operation.
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to ob-
serve these safety instructions! We do not assume any liability for any
consequential damage!
We do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused
by improper use or non-compliance with the safety instructions! In such
cases, the warranty will be void!
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modi
fi
cation of the product is not al-
lowed for safety and approval reasons (CE).
• The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children! There
is a risk of a lethal electric shock!
• The product may only be operated on the mains voltage (see section “Tech-
nical Data”). Never try to operate the product at another voltage as this will
cause its destruction.
• The product is designed to comply with protection class I; it has an IP44
European power plug.
An appropriate power socket complying with IP44 must be used in outdoor
areas.
Extension cables must also be appropriate for use in outdoor areas, if ap-
plicable. Make sure that the plug connection is never in or under water, e.g.
in puddles or in areas where water might accumulate during rain or
fl
ooding.
• The product complies with IP65; it can be mounted and operated in indoor
and outdoor areas. However, never mount it to or inside vehicles.
The product must never be operated in or under water, this will damage it.
This might cause a lethal electric shock!
• Only insert or replace the bulb if the product is disconnected from the mains
voltage. Unplug the mains plug out of the mains socket.
Also make sure that humidity does not penetrate the spotlight; do not open
the light during precipitation.
• Do not use this product in rooms or under adverse ambient conditions
where combustible gases, vapours or dust are or may be present! There is a
risk of explosion!
• Do not hang or attach objects (e.g. decorative material) to the light, there is
a risk of
fi
re!
• The product must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, strong vibra-
tions or heavy mechanical stress.
• If you have reason to assume that safe operation is no longer possible, dis-
connect the product immediately and secure it against inadvertent opera-
tion. Let an expert check the product.
It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
- the product shows visible signs of damage,
- the product does not work at all or well (
fl
ickering light, leaking smoke or a
smell of burning, the light
fl
ickers, audible cracking noises, discolouration
to the product or the adjacent surfaces.)
- the device was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long period of
time or
- the device was exposed to extraordinary stress caused by transport.
• Do not carelessly leave the packaging material lying around since it could
become a dangerous plaything for children.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the em-
ployer’s liability insurance association for electrical systems and operating
facilities are to be observed!
• If you have any questions that are not answered in this manual, please con-
tact our technical service or another specialist.
Installation
Pay attention to the chapter “Safety Instructions”!
• Using the mounting foot, you can fasten the ground spotlight e.g. on a concrete
base.
Only install the product on a stable surface. Use screws and plugs that are suitable
for the surface.
Due to the heavy weight, a corresponding stable installation is to be performed.
• Align the ground spotlight as preferred and af
fi
x it immovably.
Keep a minimum distance between the light outlet and illuminated surfaces. The
corresponding minimum distance is indicated on the ground spotlight.
• Install all cables in such a way that nobody may trip over them.
• The mains socket to which the ground spotlight is connected must be protected on
the sub-distribution board by a 10/16A fuse. An earth leakage circuit breaker must be
installed before this (FI protective switch).
• Insert a bulb before connecting the ground spotlight with the mains voltage; see
chapter “Inserting/Replacing the bulb”.
