Legal notice
Make sure when screwing into place or when drilling holes that no cables or
wires are damaged.
• Attach the camera (3) and the stop ring (4) to the mounting ring (1). Then, screw
the locking ring (5) on, which you removed at the beginning, so the camera is in the
desired position.
Important:
While doing this, rotate only the locking ring (5), and not the ball-shaped cam-
era (3); otherwise the cable will be twisted, which can damage it.
The camera should not be pointed directly towards bright sources of light or
the sun (e.g. window surfaces), since this will overexpose the image.
• Secure the
fi
xing ring (5) with the grub screw (6), using the Allen key provided to turn
the grub screw.
Connection
The camera is equipped with a connection cable with two connectors on the end:
• BNC connector: The video signal (PAL) is available over this. Use an adapter, if you do
not have a BNC cable for this connection.
• Round socket: The external power supply is connected to this socket. Make sure that
you use only a stabilised power supply unit with an output voltage of 12 V/DC (direct
current) (see chapter "Technical Data" at the end of the operating manual).
Pay attention to the correct polarity of the connector for the power supply (in-
ner contact = plus/+, outer contact = minus/-); otherwise the camera will be
damaged; loss of warranty!
Set the correct input channel at the display device to display the camera image.
Afterwards, adjust the camera again if needed, in order to be able to monitor the de-
sired area.
In the dark, the IR LEDs are activated automatically. However, the LEDs are not visible
to the human eye. Please bear in mind that at night, coloured image reproduction
changes into a black and white monochrome representation.
Cleaning
Occasionally, clean the camera from dust and dirt, especially the front screen. Use a
dry, clean and soft cloth, moistened with water. Do not rub too hard, to avoid scratch
marks on the glass, this will cause deterioration in the image quality!
Do not use any aggressive detergent, as this might cause discoloration.
Tips and Notes
• Install the camera at a height where it cannot be reached without using auxiliary
devices.
• Longer cable lengths cause deterioration in the video signal. In this case, use a suit-
able ampli
fi
er.
If the cable used to supply the power is too long, the voltage will drop and thus, the
operating voltage for the camera will no longer be suf
fi
cient. This may lead to stripes
in the image or to a loss of signal. If necessary, use a cable with a larger cross-section
to reduce the voltage drop.
Disposal
Electrical and electronic products do not belong to the household waste!
Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, according to the
current statutory requirements.
