4. Adjust the light intensity and lens aperture so all the pixels are above the noise floor and
below saturation (below 15K pixel-value, typically centered around 8500 pixel-value).
5. Click “create flat field”.
6. A Windows Explorer dialog box will prompt the user for a file name and location.
Creation of the Gain Table:
1. Click “Create Gain Matrix”.
2. Follow the prompt and select the dark frame data file.
3. Follow the prompt and select the flat field data file.
Enabling the NUC: Once the gain matrix is created you can turn on the software NUC by checking
the “2Pt NUC” box.
8.2.3 “Normalize to” Feature
Saturated camera pixels may be displayed in the middle of the gray scale when a software NUC is
applied. Enabling “Normalize to” will scale these pixels up to display at saturation. Typical values
range from 60-95%. The lens aperture will need to be adjusted as you vary the “normalize to”
value.
