4.2

Care and Maintenance

The Speed Light Sports Timing System has been carefully designed to

withstand the rigours of field testing, however, the following precautions should

be observed to ensure long-term reliable operation.

(I)

Avoid leaving electronic equipment on the dash or seat of a motor vehicle.

Temperatures can rise to as high as 80 degrees C which may be detrimental to

LCD Displays.

(ii)

This system is not water-proof. If it should get wet, always dry in a cool dry

place before storing.

(iii)

Avoid scratching the red plastic filter window on each of the two photo-

electric beams on gates.

(iv)

Do not charge battery unless “LOW BATTERY” message is displayed.

Excessive charging on a battery that is not flat will shorten battery life.
