2A-10 Housing and Bracket: 

7) Remove the E-ring (17), then remove the lock plate 

(18) from throttle arm assembly (19).
Remove the two screws (20) securing the throttle 
arm assembly (19) to tiller handle housing, then 
remove throttle arm assembly and handle rod (21).

8) Remove the bolt (22) securing the shift lever.

9) Separate the shift lever (23) by installing 8 mm bolt 

(24) in shift lever as shown in figure.
Using a mallet, tap on bolt head until the shift lever 
separates, then remove 8 mm bolt.

10) Remove the two bolts (25) securing the shift gear 

assembly (26) to tiller handle housing, then remove 
shift gear assembly (26) and bush (27).

11) Remove the lock plate (28) and ball (29) from shift 

gear assembly.

Assembly

Assembly is reverse order of disassembly.
When reassembling tiller handle, refer to “Tiller Handle 
Component” (Page 2A-8).
