8.0 BATTERY BACKUP SIREN
Alarm – Upgrade
The siren contains a rechargeable
battery pack, high security key switch
and a unique low volume chirps circuitry.
The battery pack
will sound the siren
whenever the vehicle’s battery is
disconnected, ensure the siren is turned
off whenever the vehicle is being
serviced.
The batteries are charged whilst the
vehicle’s ignition is turned “ON” and are
always ready to sound the siren should
tampering or disconnection of the main
battery occur.
It is recommended that the siren is
turned “OFF” when the vehicle is to be
serviced.
Turning the siren “OFF’ serves two
purposes. Firstly, the system will no
longer function as an alarm, although
keyless entry is maintained. Secondly, it
will prevent the siren from sounding
should the vehicle’s battery be
disconnected during service.
The key switch
is designed to maintain
a high level of security making it difficult
to copy. Should another key be required
please see a specialised locksmith to
have a key cut.
The low volume chirps circuitry
has
been incorporated to avoid noise
disturbance during the normal arming
and disarming cycle.
