Chapter 3

Troubleshooting

3-1 Troubleshooting Procedures

Use the following procedures to troubleshoot your system.  If you
have followed all of the procedures below and still need assistance,
refer to the ‘Technical Support Procedures’ and/or ‘Returning
Merchandise for Service’ section(s) in this chapter.

No Video

Use the following steps for troubleshooting your system configura-
tion.

1.

If you have no video, remove all the add-on cards and cables.

2.

Check for shorted connections, especially under the
motherboard.

3.

Check the jumpers settings, clock speed, and voltage set-
tings.

4.

Use the speaker to determine if any beep codes exist.  Refer to
Appendix C of the AMI BIOS Reference Manual for details about
beep codes.
