located at JL1. See the board lay-

out in Chapter 1 for the location of

JL1 and the table on the right for

pin definitions.

Pin Definitions (JL1)

Fan Headers

There are three fan headers (Fan

1, Fan 2 and Fan3) on the P8SAA.

T h e s e a r e 4 - p i n f a n h e a d e r s ;

however, these fan headers also

s u p p o r t t r a d i t i o n a l 3 - p i n f a n s .

(Pins #1, #2, #3 are back-compat-

ible with traditional 3-pin fan head-

ers.) The fan speeds are con-

trolled by Thermal Management via

BIOS (within the "Hardware Moni-

t o r S e c t i o n " i n t h e B I O S " A d -

vanced Setting".) The default set-

ting for Fan Speed Control is "Dis-

abled"; the fan is set to run at the

full speed (12V). (*Note: Please

use all 4-pin fans or all 3-pin fans

on the same board. Do not use 4-

pin fans and 3 -pin fans together

on the same motherboard.) See

the table on the right for pin defini-

tions.
