Introduction

1-1 Overview

The SC417 JBOD SAS3 storage enclosure features seventy-two 2.5" hot-swap 
drive bays (forty-eight in the front plus twenty-four in the rear) supporting SAS or 
SATA drives. 

The design provides high-density storage in a 4U form factor, with power efficiency, 

optimized hard drive signal trace routing and an improved hard drive carrier de-
sign which dampens vibration and maximizes performance. It is equipped with a 

1200W Titanium level high-efficiency redundant power supply and seven hot-plug 

redundant cooling fans. The SC417 JBOD is a reliable, high-quality workhorse of 
a storage system.
