Installing an M.2 Solid State Drive
Note:
There are some thermal limitations with M.2 drives. Please contact Supermicro Support
before installing an M.2 device.
The motherboard can accommodate an M.2 solid state drive (SSD). The M.2 socket supports
NVMe PCI-E 3.0 x2 (32 Gb/s) or SATA SSD cards in the 2280 or 22110 form factors. The
22110 form factor is recommended because the appropriate standoff comes pre-installed on
the motherboard.
Caution:
Use industry-standard anti-static equipment, such as gloves or wrist strap, and
follow precautions to avoid damage caused by ESD.
