• Drawing 2: Place the O-ring (
Y
) in the recess at the end of the quartz glass (
S
).
• Place the lamp (
U
) in the lamp holder (
V
).
• Drawing 3: Slide the lamp (
U
) in the quartz glass (
S
), which is inside the filter, and tighten this onto the lead-through (
T
) by hand.
• Install the ballast (
X
) in a dry/sheltered position.
Drawing D:
• The outlet of the filter consists of a 63 mm tank lead-through (
N
) with counter-flange (
O
) and sealing ring (
P
) that must be fitted to the outlet hole
by means of screws (
Q
).
• If you decide to use a set-up which is not in the immediate vicinity of the pond, an extension pipe or hose can be connected to the outlet so that
the water flows back into the pond.
After the installation, the pump and the UV-C plunger can be put into operation, and the system must then be checked for leaks. Ensure that the
inlet and outlet are never blocked!
Drawing E:
• The water flow can be regulated with a three-way valve if the capacity of your pump appears to be too high, and there is a risk of your filter
overflowing.
• As the filter is designed to run continuously, it should be left running all the time (except in the winter months when there is a risk of freezing).
Check the filter regularly for blockages or the presence of debris or sludge. Silt and sludge can be flushed out via the slide valve (
I
). For this purpose,
switch off the pump, withdraw the two pipes (
J
) from the discharge openings in the filter and then open the valve.
Maintenance
The pump must be switched off and the filter must be drained before maintenance can be carried out to the filter and/or UV-C plunger!
The special silt trap ensures that maintenance is kept to a minimum. To clean the filter, open the drain cock (
I
) and the collected sludge will flow out
immediately. During the initial period of use the filter media (
K
) should be washed clean every day with tap water. Afterwards, depending on the
sludge build-up, they should be washed out once a month.
Always remove the plug of the UV-C device from the socket and wait at least 1 minute before carrying out maintenance to the UV-C plunger or
replacing it!
The special lamp must be replaced after 8,000 operating hours. For replacing the lamp, unscrew the electrical unit (
W
). Remove the electrical unit
from the filter together with the lamp (
U
). Then remove the lamp (
U
) from the electrical unit. The lamp can now be replaced.
If the algae growth and/or scale deposit increases, the quartz glass must be cleaned. Unscrew the electrical unit (
W
). Remove the electrical unit
from the filter together with the lamp (
U
). Then carefully remove the quartz glass from the filter (
S
). The quartz glass can now be cleaned with a
suitable product (a non-aggressive cleaning agent). Always use a soft cloth to clean the glass in order to prevent scratches.
When replacing the quartz glass, please make sure that the O-rings (
R
and
Y
) are placed in the correct positions!
Safety
• The pump must be switched off and the filter drained before dismantling, replacing parts or carrying out maintenance to the filter!
• A UV-C lamp produces harmful radiation. Direct contact could damage the eyes and skin!
• Unintended use of the device may lead to the escape of hazardous UV-C radiation. Even in small doses, UV-C radiation could cause injury to the eyes
and skin.
• Always insert the plug of the device into an earthed socket fitted with a protective cover.
• To connect permanently to a power supply, be sure to comply fully with the regulations of the public electricity authority. In case of doubt, consult
a certified electrician or the public electricity authority. Always work with an earth leakage current circuit-breaker (max. 30mA)
• Always remove the plug from the socket before carrying out any maintenance or replacement activities to the UV unit/filter. Never insert the plug
/ pull the plug from the socket when you are standing in water or if your hands are wet!
• Once the UV unit has been switched off, the lamp will remain hot for about 10 minutes.
• This device is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or a lack of experience and
know-how, unless they are under supervision or are instructed on the use of the device by a person responsible for their safety.
• Keep children away from this device and from the cable.
• The cable of the UV unit cannot be replaced. The complete electrical unit of the device must be replaced if there is any damage to the power cable.
Never remove the plug; the electrical unit must remain intact (an electrical unit with the plug removed will no longer be covered by the guarantee!).
• Attention: the lamp must be disposed of at the civic amenity site of your municipality.
• Do not use the device if any parts are damaged (the quartz glass in particular).
