Preventive Maintenance

To Clean the Extension Axis

See

FIGURE 2-3

1. Remove the ESD cover.

2. Lightly dampen a cloth (supplied in PM kit) with isopropyl alcohol.

3. Remove all dust and debris from the:

■

Extension axis rail

■

Gripper cross shaft

■

Extension axis follower rail on the wear surface

Caution –

Do NOT apply lubricant to the extension axis follower rail. Applying

lubricant to the extension axis follower rail damages it.

■

Gripper jaw inner surfaces

Note –

Use a can of compressed air to blow dust off of the CIG receivers.

4. Repeat if necessary.
