STcontroller Support
Several key Model 5422A operating parameters can be observed using the STcontroller software application.
In addition, the version numbers of the unit’s firmware can be viewed. STcontroller also allows direct access to
the Model 5422A’s management webpages. The configuration of a specific Model 5422A can be saved, in XML
format, onto the personal computer associated with STcontroller. A configuration file can also be loaded into the
associated Model 5422A.
Installing STcontroller
STcontroller is available free of charge on the Studio Technologies’ website (studio-tech.com). Versions are
available that are compatible with personal computers running selected versions of the Windows
®
and macOS
®
operating systems. If required, download and install STcontroller onto a designated personal computer. This
personal computer must be on the same local area network (LAN) and subnet as the Model 5422A unit that is
to be configured. Immediately after starting STcontroller the application will locate all the Studio Technologies’
devices that it can control. The one or more Model 5422A units on the network will appear in the device list.
Use the Identify command to allow easy recognition of a specific Model 5422A unit. Double-clicking on a device
name will cause the associated configuration menu to appear. STcontroller does not allow any changes to be
directly made to the Model 5422A configuration. It is intended to allow observation of a limited set of operating
parameters. It also allows direct access to the Model 5422A’s web (HTML) pages without explicitly knowing the
unit’s management port IP address.
Group Configuration: STcontroller will display details
about the Group Configuration that is in effect. This will
include the Channels Per Group, Group designator,
Group Label, and Operating Mode. The configura-
tion of these parameters can not be changed using
STcontroller. Only the configuration webpages allow
this to occur. For Model 5422A-01 units STcontroller
will provide one page to display the Group Configura -
tion details. This will encompass the Model 5422A-01’s
one group of 32 channels. Two pages are provided for
the Model 5422A-02 as it supports two groups with 32
channels each.
