On Unitom-5, the desired Feed Speed is pre-set and kept constant
throughout the cutting process.
If the pre-set Feed Speed is too high in relation to the hardness of
the material or size of the sample, Unitom-5 will reduce the Feed
Speed automatically (default setting).
The display shows the following text:
Unitom-5 continues to cut at the reduced Feed Speed and reduces
the Feed Speed repeatedly, if necessary.
Next time the same type of sample has to be cut, the reduced
value for Feed Speed can be used.
After the Feed Reduction Feature has been in operation, the
display shows the following, next time START
s
is pressed:
If the same type of sample has to be cut, press F1.
If Feed Reduction is not desired, feed reduction is set to Off in the
configuration. This can be used to force a dressing of the cut-off
wheel. However, this might result in a motor stopping due to
overload.
