3.1.12 Connecting to External Storage Resources (Optional)

StoneFly ISC appliances have an option for connecting additional storage devices using external
SAS expansion units.
SAS Expansion
The standard ISC has an internal SAS RAID controller. The technology allows for an additional
port on the rear apron of the RAID controller. A standard SAS cable to connect to additional
EBODs comes with the EBOD.
To connect your storage resources, use the steps that follow:
1. Shut down the
ISC
.
2. Configure the storage resource devices.
3. Attach each storage resource to the appropriate port on the ISC .
4. Power on the
ISC
.

VGA Port
Management Ports
Power Supply
RAID Management Port
(Do not connect)
SAS Extension

Storage Concentrator
