5. Operating Your System

H. SYSTEM CONNECTIONS
Now that you have decided which mode and type of system
operation you will use, you are ready to make your system
connections and settings on your STK crossover. You will
notice two legends on your front and rear panels. Be sure
that you follow the lower nomenclature on the panels of
your crossover when in mono mode as certain functions are
different from that used in stereo mode.
1. Set Mode Selector Switch
Set the mode selector switch on the rear panel to the mono
position.
2. Connect Audio Source
With the input and output level controls on your VC-23 or
VC-34 set to minimum and the power off, connect the mono
output of your source device, such as a mixing console or
graphic equalizer to the channel A input of the crossover. If
the output of the source device is a 1/4″phone jack or RCA
pin jacks, use the 1/4″input on the crossover(VC-23 only).
If the outputs of the source device are XLR connectors, use
the XLR inputs on the crossover. It is generally accepted that
for best results, the type of connection should be uniform
from one device to the next and you should not use cables
with different connectors on each end such as an unbalanced
phone plug on one end and an XLR on the other.
3. Connect Low Frequency Output
Connect the channel A low frequency output of the crossover
to the input of the low frequency power amplifier.
4. Connect Low/Mid Frequency Output (VC-34 Only)
Connect the low/mid frequency output of the crossover to
the input of the low/mid frequency power amplifier.
5. Connect Mid Frequency Output (VC-23 Only)
Connect the mid frequency output of the crossover to the
input of the mid frequency power amplifier.
6. Connect High/Mid Frequency Output (VC-34 Only)
Connect the high/mid frequency output of the crossover to
the input of the high/mid frequency power amplifier.
7. Connect High Frequency Output
Connect the high frequency output of the crossover to the
input of the high frequency power amplifier.
8. Set Speaker Operation Mode
In oder to properly use an active crossover, you must have
speaker systems that are equipped to allow direct Access
to the low, low/mid, mid, high/mid and high frequency
components of the speaker system.
You must be able to bypass the built-in, passive crossover
found in most speaker systems.
A mode switch will be found on some speaker systems while
others may have automatic switching which takes place when

A채널에 연결하여 주십시오. 신호 기기의 출력이 1/4″폰잭이나
RCA 핀 잭이라면, 크로스오버의 1/4″입력단을 사용하십시오(VC-
23 한정). 만약 신호기기의 출력단이 XLR 컨넥터라면, 크로스오버
의 XLR 입력단을 사용하여 주십시오.
일반적으로 컨넥터의 종류를 동일하게 연결해주는 케이블을 쓰고,
변환 케이블을 쓰지 않는 것이 가장 높은 품질의 음향을 보장하는
것으로 알려져 있습니다.
3. 저주파 출력 연결
크로스오버 채널 A의 저주파 출력을 저주파 증폭용 앰프의 입력부
로 연결 하십시오.
4. 저/중주파 출력 연결 (VC-34 한정)
크로스오버의 저/중주파 출력을 저/중주파 증폭용 앰프의 입력부
로 연결 하십시오.
5. 중주파 출력 연결 (VC-23 한정)
크로스오버의 중주파 출력을 중주파 앰프의 입력부에 연결하십시
오.
6. 고/중주파 출력 연결 (VC-34 한정)
크로스오버의 고/중주파 출력을 고/중주파 앰프의 입력부에 연결
하십시오.
7. 고주파 출력 연결
크로스오버의 고주파 출력을 고주파 앰프의 입력부에 연결하십시
오.
8. 스피커 동작 모드 설정
액티브 크로스오버를 올바르게 사용하기 위해서, 반드시 저음, 중/
저음, 중음, 중/고음, 고음에 직접 접근할 수 있는 스피커 시스템이
존재해야 합니다. 사용자는 거의 대부분의 스피커 시스템에 조립되
어 있는 패시브 크로스 오버를 통해 바이패스 동작을 할 수 있을 것
입니다. 어떤 스피커의 경우 모드 선택 스위치가 있을 것이고 어떤
스피커는 폰 플러그를 저/고주파 입력단에 끼우면서 자동 선택이
될 것입니다. 만약 사용하시는 스피커 시스템이 바이-앰프, 트라
이-앰프, 또는 풀-레인지 모드로 선택할 수 있는 스위치가 있는 모
델이라면, 스위치를 트라이-앰프 또는 다른 멀티 모드로(VC-34)
로 설정하여 주십시오. 이는 잘못 설정할 경우 스피커와 앰프 모두
에 심각한 손상을 야기시킬 수 있으므로 매우 중요합니다. 스피커
시스템의 멀티 다이렉트 모드를 잘 모르실 때에는 스피커 제조사나
판매자에게 문의해 주세요.
