E. SYSTEM CONNECTION

Now that you have decided which mode and type of system
operation you will use, you are ready to make your system
connections and settings on your STK crossover.

1. Set Mode Selector Switch

Set the mode selector switch on the rear panel to the stereo
position.

2. Connect Audio Source To Inputs

With the input and output level controls on your VC-23
or VC-34 set to minimum and the power off, connect the
outputs of your source device, such as a mixing console or
stereo graphic equalizer to the inputs of the crossover. The
left channel output of the source device should be connected
to channel A and the right channel output connected to
channel B of the crossover. If the outputs of the source
device are 1/4″ phone jacks or RCA pin jacks, use the
1/4″inputs on the crossover(VC-23 only). If the outputs of
the source device are XLR connectors, use the XLR inputs
on the crossover. It is generally accepted that for best results,
the type of connection should be uniform from one device
to the next and you should not use cables with different
connectors on each end such as an unbalanced phone plug on
one end and an XLR on the other.

3. Connect Low Frequency Output

Connect the channel A low frequency output of the crossover
to the left or channel 1 input of the low frequency power
amplifier. Connect the channel B low frequency output to the
right or channel 2 input of the low frequency amplifier.

4. Connect Mid Frequency Output (VC-34 only)

Connect the channel A mid frequency output of the crossover
to the left or channel 1 input of the mid frequency power
amplifier. Connect the channel B mid frequency output to
the right or channel 2 input of the mid frequency amplifier.

5. Connect High Frequency Output

Connect the channel A high frequency output of the
crossover to the left or channel 1 input of the high frequency
power amplifier. Connect the channel B high frequency
output to the right or channel 2 input of the high frequency
power amplifier.

6. Set Speaker Operation Mode

In oder to properly use an active crossover, you must have
speaker systems that are equipped to allow direct access to
the low, mid and high frequency components of the speaker
system. You must be able to bypass the built-in, passive
crossover found in almost all speaker systems. A mode switch
will be found on some speaker systems while others may
have automatic switching which takes place when you insert a
phone plug into the low and/or high frequency input jacks. If
