8. Engage Hi-Pass Filter
Your STK crossover is fitted with a high pass filter in the
subwoofer section. This filter sharply rolls off the signal
below 15 Hz. As there are no audible sound located that low
in the frequency spectrum, using this feature will protect
your drivers from subsonic, over-excursion damage.
To engage the high pass filter, depress the high pass switch to
the "in" position.
9. System Gain
Before proceeding, refer to section "Professional Operating
Tips" in this manual. It is important that you understand
proper gain structure procedures when using any sound
system. It is of particular importance when using this device.
This section will help you learn correct gain adjustment
procedures. Once you have powered up the system as
described in step 22, establish the levels and gain structure
for your whole system up to the crossover per the instructions
for your source devices, mixing console and other signal
processing.
10. Switching On Power
At this time, you may now switch on all equipment up to and
including your crossover, but do not switch on the power
amplifiers. Before doing so, check once more that your input
and output level controls are turned hard left, or to the off
position. As you are operating in the stereo mode, the mono
mode indicator light on your VC-23 or VC-34 should not be
illuminated.
11. Set Input Level Controls
Now you are ready to make the level adjustments for your
VC-23 or VC-34 with your amplifiers still off, play some
program material from your source. The signal from your
last piece of equipment such as a graphic equalizer should be
strong. With your program material reaching the occasional
peak, slowly turn the input level controls for channel A and
channel B up individually. Increase the levels until you see
the red peak indicators located on the front panel begin to
flash. These should only illuminate on program peaks.
The input level controls are now correctly adjusted.
12. Set Output Level Controls
The unity gain position (unity gain means the output level
is the same as the input level)on your crossover is at the "0"
point on the output level controls. There is a detente at this
point. In order to maintain proper gain structure, you should
place the output controls in this detente or "0" position as a
starting point. Further adjustment may be necessary later.
13. Recheck Power Amplifier Connections
Before switching on your amplifiers, double check all your
input and speaker connections.
Once all connections have been verified, check to see that

11. 입력 레벨 조절기 설정
앰프의 전원이 여전히 꺼져있는 상태에서 VC-23과 VC-34의 레
벨 조절을 할 준비가 되어 있다면, 신호 기기를 동작 시켜 주십시
오. 그래픽 EQ와 같은 마지막 장비의 신호는 꽤 강력할 것입니다.
신호 기기가 이따금 피크에 도달하면, 채널 A와 B 각각의 레벨 조
절기를 낮춰 주십시오. 그리고 다시 전면부의 붉은색 피크 표시등
이 깜박일 때까지 천천히 레벨 조절기를 올려 주십시오. 이것은 단
지 프로그램 피크에 대한 것입니다.
이제 입력 레벨 조절기는 올바르게 설정되었습니다.
12. 출력 레벨 조절기 설정
크로스 오버의 유니티 게인 위치(유니티 게인이란 입력 레벨과 출
력 레벨이 동일한 게인을 말합니다.)는 출력 레벨 조절기의 "0"위치
입니다. 그 부분에 조절기가 살짝 걸리는 부분이 있습니다. 올바른
게인 구조를 유지하기 위해 출력 조절기를 이 위치 또는 "0"의 위치
에 두고 시작하셔야 합니다. 추가적인 조절은 차후에 필요하게 될
것입니다.
13. 파워 앰프 연결 재확인
앰프의 전원을 켜기 전에 입력 기기들과 스피커들의 연결 상태를
다시 한번 확인해 주십시오.
모든 연결이 확인 되었다면, 앰프의 입력 레벨이 여전히 가장 낮은
위치로 되어있는지 확인하여 주십시오. 확인이 끝나면, 모든 앰프
의 전원을 켜 주십시오.
14. 앰프의 입력 레벨 조절기 설정
일반적으로 파워 앰프로 신호를 입력하는 기기가 앰프를 최대 파워
로 동작 시킬 수 있을 만큼 충분한 출력 게인을 가지지 못했다면 파
워 앰프의 레벨 조절은 최대로 할 필요가 없습니다.
VC-23, VC-34는 많은 출력단을 가지고 있습니다. 시스템을 테스
트할 때는 올바른 시스템 설정과 균형을 확보할 때까지 앰프 레벨
을 다른 기기에 비해 낮게 유지해 주십시오.
이를 통해 갑작스러운 과신호로부터 스피커 시스템을 보호할 수 있
습니다.
15. 음소거 스위치
음소거 스위치는 시스템 설치 시 유용한 도구가 될 수 있습니다.
VC-23은 스테레오 동작 모드에서 저주파 출력 을 음소거 할 수 있
습니다. VC-3은 저주파, 또는 중주파, 그리고 저, 중주파 모두 음
소거 할 수 있습니다.
STK 크로스오버에는 서브우퍼 섹션을 포함하여 각 채널마다 음소
거 버튼이 있습니다.
이 스위치들을 활용하는 것은 각 스피커의 기능을 출력 레벨의 변
경 없이 확인 할 수 이게 해주는 것입니다. 또한, 각 스피커 시스템
의 드라이버가 올바르게 동작하고 있는지를 다른 스피커들을 음소
거 함으로써 일일이 가서 들어보지 않아도 되도록 활용할 수 있습
니다. 음소거 스위치는 스위치가 눌려져있을 때 동작합니다.
