The control panel with the “Internal heat pump
control” (IWS II) is accessible after removing
the front cover.  The following lists the IWS II
adjustments required for the WPF...M(S)

Slide switches (WP-Typ)

You can choose various compressor systems
with the slide switches (WP-Typ). For the
WPF...M, this was set at the factory to

9

subject to the heat pump type.

Where the WPF..M(S) is to be used as module
together with a further WPF..M, the slide
switches (WP-Typ) remains set to

9

.

!

Check the slide switches (WP-Typ)
for correct setting.

Slide switches (S1)

The switches 1 and 2 have no effect on the
WPF...M(S) function. They remain in off
position

Switch 3 position

Switch ON:  SERVICE
Corresponding compressors (defaulted by
setting the slide switches (WP-Typ)) are started
in one second intervals.

1.12 Troubleshooting

Checking the settings at the IWS II

Switch 4 position

Switch ON:  STAND ALONE operation
Should the WPM II heat pump manager
develop a fault, the heat pump can, in
emergencies, be operated in stand alone
mode.  In this operating mode, there is no
communication with the WPM II.  The heat
pump regulates to a fixed temperature: The
heat pump starts at 50 °C and stops at 55 °C.
For this, connect 230 V to terminals

X4

/2

and a temperature sensor TF 6 (for part no.
see “Special accessories”, page 2) as return
sensor at sensor terminals

X2

/4 & 5.  Insert

the sensor into the sensor well at the heating
circuit return (see Fig. 3).  The operating mode
is indicated by the r.h. green LED .

!

For the stand alone operation,
remove the jumper across terminals

X4/1 and X4/2.

LEDs
Red LED:

 Flashing or static:

The LED flashes, if a heat pump fault occurs
only once.
The system will be shut down:
The red LED illuminates

statically

, if more than

five heat pump faults

occur within two hours

of operation.  The system will be shut down
permanently.
In both cases, the fault will be entered into
the FAULT LIST (parameter 47) of the WPM II.
Operation can starts 10 minutes after the fault

Reset button

Slide switches (WP-Typ)

has been removed; the LED extinguishes.
To

 delete the faults

 on the IWS II, select

parameter 55, then press PRG to reset the IWS
II.  The internal counter will then be returned
to zero.

Heat pump faults

 indicated by the LED: High

pressure fault / low pressure fault, central fault
messages and hardware faults at the IWS II
(see parameter 47).

Green LED (centre)

: Flashes

 during

initialisation, and becomes

steady

 after the

BUS address has been allocated successfully.
Only then is the communication with WPM II
possible.  This is only relevant for the WPF...M,
if the control unit is replaced, otherwise the
unit is initialised at the factory.

Green LED (right)

Illuminates

constantly

when STAND ALONE operation has been
selected.

Reset button

In case of incorrect initialisation, see section
5.4.1 of the WPM II operating and installation
instructions.
