Diagnosis of Electrical Failure
Prior to any repair work on the machine or drives, the machine must be secured against
unintentional start-up. Put the machine in its Safety-off position.
Work on electrical equipment may only be undertaken by a skilled electrician or by
trained persons under supervision of a skilled electrician in accordance with electrical
engineering regulations.

Motor does not
start up
Missing Phase
Check power supply
Faulty switch or relays
Get diagnosis and replacement by a
skilled electrician
Emergency Stop
Unlock the emergency stop button
Motor stops
during operation
Current power is too high.
Disconnect plug.
Supply circuit breaker is disengaged. Reset circuit breaker or replace fuse.
Motor is damaged.
Inspect motor.

Programming the SMV Drive for the P/M Machine
In cases of tampering or random malfunction, the SMV drive will require the following programming:
1) Master Reset, and 2) STI Settings.
In the case of an SMV drive being repaired and returned to you, the SMV drive will require the
following programming: 1) STI Settings.
SMV Drive - Master Reset Procedure (standard factory settings):
1. With SMV Drive powered on, press M on the keypad.
2. Press the arrow up key to scroll to the number "0225." Press M. The display will read "P100".
3. Press the arrow up key to "P199". Press M. Screen will display “00”.
4. Arrow up to "03". Press M.
5. Unplug the machine from the source power or turn off the red/yellow switch and allow the
drive to power down for at least one minute.
6. Plug the machine back into source power or switch on the red/yellow switch to power up.
SMV Drive - STI Settings Procedure:
1. With SMV Drive powered on, press M on the keypad.
2. Press the arrow up key to scroll to the number "0225". Press M.
3. Press arrow up and scroll to “P104”. Press M. Screen will display “20.0”.
4. Arrow down and scroll to “5.0”. Press M. Screen will display “P104”.
5. Arrow up and scroll to “P112”. Press M. Screen will display “0.0”.
6. Arrow up to “01”. Press M. Screen will display “P112”.
7. Arrow up to “P121”. Press M. Screen will display “00”.
8. Arrow up to “21”. Press M.
At this point, the machine will be programmed and ready for use with its STI settings.
