Final Assembly Continued
72. Using the 12 in. length of 0.045 wire, bend the landing gear over the pattern
provided on the Detail Sheet.
73. Install the landing gear in the landing gear pocket, and retain with ply part
F19. Ensure that F19 is inserted fully within the pocket, and secure by
wicking thin CA along the pocket.
74. Install the ESC by feeding the motor leads through the opening in the
landing gear pocket and out of the smaller hole in the motor mount.
75. Attach the mounting plate provided with the recommended SA Sport Park
BL250 motor [SUPA 1510/15].
Tip: For thrust line correction tack glue one
each nylon washer to both of the LEFT hand mounting tabs as shown. This
will keep the washers in-place when installing the motor to the firewall. Be
exceedingly careful not to drip CA glue on the motor windings or you will ruin
the motor. When installed, this will offset the motor for the correct right-
thrust angle.
76. Connect the motor to the leads from the ESC. Temporarily connect the ESC
to your receiver and power up the system. Slowly advance the throttle and
ascertain that the motor is turning in the correct direction. If not, simply
reverse any two of the three motor leads. When you are satisfied that the
motor is turning the correct direction (clockwise as viewed from behind the
propeller), mount the motor with the four 1/4 in. #2 screws provided in your
kit - do not over tighten.
77. Mount a 2 in. length of self-adhesive Velcro (the “hook” side) to the
underside of the central crutch F1 to receive the battery. Further retain the
Velcro by wicking medium CA around the edges.
78. Affix a small patch of Velcro (the “loop” side) to the ESC and your receiver.
