Wheel Pants
This step can be quite tricky as it is very easy to get side tracked and built two right or two left parts. Remember, we want
a right and left wheel pant. The best way, that I have found, to build these up and avoid making two identical parts is to
follow the illustrations below. Lay your parts out facing EXACTLY as illustrated and work through this step in one sitting…
this will help you avoid making mistakes.
1.
Build Stack A: Stack the following wheel pant part up in the following order UP FROM THE BUILDING BOARD:
Make two stacks of WP1, WP2a, WP2a, WP2b, and WP2b stack them in front of you as illustrated. Now grab
one stack and laminate each part to the next – complete for the second stack.
2.
Build Stack B: Stack up (again working up from the building board) parts WP4 and WP3. Make two stacks
oriented as illustrated. Work with one stack at a time laminating the parts together. When finished, locate the
1/16” ply part WP3A Lightly sand and install into pocket created by WP4 and WP3.
3.
Laminate Stack A to Stack B -
THE PLY INSERT (STACK B) MUST FACE INSIDE THE WHEEL PANT
. Next
laminate part WP5 to WP4 on the exterior of each stack.
