Motion Band
The motion band setting is used to set the amount of motion sensing
performed on the loaded weight. Motion sensing is used during certain functions,
such as counting and zeroing of the scale, to ensure that a stable weight has been
acquired. The ‘MOTION’ LED, located on the front panel of the XC880A, will
light whenever motion is sensed. Follow the procedure below to adjust the
motion band.
1. Press the numeric ‘5’ followed by the ‘PARM’ key. The current motion band
setting is displayed on the alphanumeric LCD.
2. The ‘SCALE SELECT’ and ‘TARE keys are used to step through all
available settings. In applications where vibration or air currents are
strong enough to cause weight variations a high setting is
recommended. Since this may result in an unreasonable time delay for
certain motion-inhibited operations such as Zeroing or Printing, a
lower setting may be best. Once the desired setting is displayed, press
the ‘ENTER’ key to save the new setting, and return to the previous
state. Selecting the ‘0.0’ setting will disable motion sensing.

Zero Tracking
This parameter may be activated to continually monitor the weight. If the
reading is within a set number of graduations from zero, and no motion is present,
the XC880A will automatically zero the scale. The zeroing is performed without
any message being displayed and may not be noticed by the operator. Follow the
procedure below to activate or deactivate this function.
1. Press the ‘7’ key followed by the ‘PARM’ key. The alphanumeric
LCD displays ‘ZERO TRACKING’ along with the current setting (ON
or OFF). Press the ‘SCALE SELECT’ key to toggle the choices. Press
ENTER to save the displayed choice.
2. If tracking is activated, the operator is prompted for the number of
graduations to determine the tracking window. Enter a value between .
5 and 50 then press ‘ENTER’ to save the setting and return the scale to
its previous state.
NOTE: ZERO TRACKING SHOULD BE OFF WHEN SCALE IS
BEING USED IN A FILLING OPERATION.
