4.4. Internet Setup
The purpose of Internet Setup is to provide an easy way for you to configure
your router to access the Internet.
4.4.1.
DHCP User (Dynamic IP)
Select this if you have a dynamic IP and obtain an IP address from your ISP
automatically. Most connections are dynamic.
Clone MAC address: The
WAN port of the router has a
unique MAC address assigned
by the manufacturer. It is
the “Default MAC”. “Clone
MAC address” to apply your
connected computer’s MAC
address to the router, as is
often required by ISP.
MTU: The MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) setting specifies the largest
packet size permitted for network transmission. Most DSL users should use
the value 1492.You can set the MTU manually, and you should leave this
value in the 1200 to 1500 range. If the value you set is not in accord with the
value of your service provider, it may causes problems.
Primary DNS: The DNS server translates domain or website names into IP
addresses. The most common DNS server address you use or one provided
by your ISP should be entered.
Secondary DNS: The IP address of a backup DNS server should be input
here, or you can leave this field blank
