After work is completed, inspect the sling for any damage that may have occurred
during use. Inspect sling along its entire length for surface defects such as cuts,
abrasions, dents, and tears.
3.3.
Criteria for removing slings from further use
Any sling that has defects, has lost its properties, or does not have a certificate or rating
plate is not suitable for use. In such a case a sling must be cut and scrapped so that it
cannot be used.
Using slings with signs of wear and tear is prohibited!
Do not use slings in the case of:
•
missing or illegible rating plate,
•
deformation, corrosion, change in color of the strap,
•
surface defects such as cuts, tears, abrasion of material, abrasion of seams.
•
exposing the core of the round sling.
Repairing slings by oneself is forbidden!
If slings have come in contact with acid or alkaline solutions, immediately remove them
from service, rinse with cold water, dry naturally, and then hand them over to a
competent person for inspection. Harmless solutions of acids and bases by evaporation
may become concentrated enough to weaken the sling.
