Chain Tension Adjustment and Inspection
– Illustration 2-13
1) Remove the right pedal. (p.22)
2) Remove the screws for the chain guard and crank, and then remove the chain guard.
3) After using a 14mm wrench to fasten the tension regulator, loosen the bolt in the opposite direction. Adjust
the tension of the tension regulator to most appropriate tension. *The most appropriate tension is shown in
‘a’ of illustration 2-13. The amplitude of the chain should be from 10-15mm.
4) After the tension regulator has been properly set, then tighten the bolt. *Ensure that the chain will not come
into contact with the chain guard.
5) Once again, fasten the chain guard using screws. Fastening the screws tightly enough so that the chain
guard will not move. Do not tighten too much such that the chain guard is damaged.
ATTENTION
Ensure the chain will not come into contact with the chain guard for risk of damaging the chain
or chain guard.
Do not put your foot on the chain guard for risk of damaging the chain guard.
