2.1.14. SNMP Traps
The IDU can be configured to send SNMP traps to a trap receiver if it is accessible
over the IP network. SNMP traps are configured via the Alarm tab of the web GUI
interface, as discussed in Section 2.1.11.
Two traps can be separately configured: 1) an Alarm trap that is sent periodically
only when an alarm condition exists for the terminal, and 2) a Heartbeat trap that is
sent periodically to indicate that the terminal is alive.
Both of these traps include an (identical) field-delimited argument containing key
status and alarm condition information for that terminal. An example argument
string is shown below. The argument includes 25 fields with “|” used as a field
delimiter.

The 25 fields are described below, in their order of appearance:
1. Protected Mode Standard Configuration (1= Primary ODU is ODU #1, 0=
Primary ODU is ODU #2) [applicable for 1+1 protected*]
2. Standby ODU Tx Active indicator [applicable for 1+1 protected*]
3. Standby ODU Rx Active indicator [applicable for 1+1 protected*]
4. ODU transmit frequency in KHz
5. ODU transmit power in dBm (is this desired or actual?)
6. ODU receive frequency in KHz
7. Primary ODU Receive RSSI in dBm
8. Standby ODU Receive RSSI in dBm [applicable for 1+1 protected*]
9. Primary ODU temperature in degrees C
10. Standby ODU temperature in degrees C
11. Demod frequency in Hz (a loop stress indicator from the carrier recovery
loop)
12. Demod SNR in dB
13. IF Receive Power at IDU-ODU IF interface in dBm
14. Demod lock indication (1 = locked, 0 = unlocked)
15. Demod loopback configuration (1 = loopback, 0 = normal)
