2.1.7. Ethernet Tab
The Ethernet Tab, shown in Figure 17, presents key status and configuration
control interface for the internal IDU Ethernet Switch. See Section 4 for a detailed
discussion of Ethernet switch features. The selected Ethernet configuration can be
saved to non-volatile memory and applied upon the next power-on by clicking
Apply & Save
. Click
Apply
to apply the settings without storing to power-on
settings. Click
Restore
to restore settings from Power-on settings. Note that upon
a power-cycle or Reboot, it is the configuration saved in the Power-on settings that
will be applied.
Note that both terminals must have identical VLAN Security settings for the
far-side terminal management to be accessible across the link
(see Section
4.1 for details).
VLAN Security may be enabled by means of the radio button in the
VLAN Security
pane. Three VLANs are created:
1) Management ports (0 & 2) isolated from data ports (1 & 3)
2) Data port 1 may pass traffic only to data port 1 on the far side of the link
3) Data port 3 may pass traffic only to data port 3 on the far side of the link
When VLANs are enabled, Link Aggregation of Ethernet ports 1 and 3 may be
enabled using the drop down.
When enabled with a radio button in the
Port-Based Priority
pane, a Fair-
Weighted or Strict priority scheme may be selected with a drop down. Assign
priorities to individual ports with the corresponding drop downs.
Rate limits may be designated for individual ports via drop downs in the
Port-
Based Rate Limiting
pane.
If a specific rate limit/port priority is not allowed, a popup box will appear after the
Apply
or
Apply & Save
button is pressed and the changes will not be applied.
Pressing the
Restore
button changes the Ethernet switch settings to power-on
values.
Flow Control on Ports 0-3 can be turned on or off by means of a radio button in the
Flow Control
pane.
A graphical snapshot of the
Ethernet Switch Status and VLAN Configuration
is
displayed at the bottom of the page.
