9. REPAIR
1) If the instrument is to be returned to our factory for repair, ensure that it is adequately packed for the
intended method of transport. Inadequate packing may cause returned instruments to be damaged
in transit, resulting in additional cost and time to rectify. Please contact our Repairs Administration
for any help or advice you may need.
2) In all correspondence concerning the instrument the full serial number and electrical supply
information should be quoted (shown on the identification plate on the rear of the instrument).

REPLACING A FLASH DETECTOR PROBE
Note:
The flash detector has a high degree of immunity to short pulses of electromagnetic
interference. Extremely high and/or prolonged electromagnetic radiation close to the
instrument may cause the flash detector to trigger.
1) Disconnect the flash detector probe lead from the socket on the back of the instrument.
2) Loosen the retaining nut and clip.
3) Slide the flash detector from the cup/heating block assembly.
4) Insert a new flash detector probe in the top of the cup/heating block assembly.
5) Position the tip of the flash detector centrally in the square cut-out in the lid.
6) Position the retaining clip over the flash detector and tighten the retaining nut firmly.
7) Connect the lead into the socket at the rear of the Tester.
