• It is only permissible to insert or remove pluggable X0, X1 terminals for electrical
circuits when these are de-energised or if it can be guaranteed that an explosive
atmosphere is not present (hot work permit, gas warning device or in the case of
installation in a non-Ex area).
• When used in Zone 2 or Zone 22, the device is to be installed in a protective enclosure
or in a cabinet that offers a suitable degree of protection in accordance with
IEC/EN 60079-0.
• An enclosure with at least an IP54 protection rating is required for use in Zone 2.
• An enclosure with at least an IP64 protection rating in accordance with
IEC/EN 60079-31 is required for use in Zone 22.
• The device is intended for installation in areas with a degree of pollution of 1 or 2 as
defined in IEC/EN 60664-1.
• The module may only be mounted on the BusRail 9494.
• Modules with intrinsically safe and non-intrinsically safe field circuits may be operated
simultaneously on one BusRail. In this case, a distance of 50 mm must be maintained
between the terminals with intrinsically safe and those with non-intrinsically safe field
circuits (e.g. partition 220101 or empty space).
• Attach the IP30 cover supplied to terminal X0 if the same enclosure contains Ex i
electrical circuits.
Commissioning, maintenance, repair
• Only have commissioning and repairs performed by qualified and authorised persons
(see "Personnel qualification" section).
• Before commissioning, make sure that the device is not damaged.
• Perform only maintenance work described in these operating instructions.
• Always clean the device with a damp cloth to prevent electrostatic charge.

Non-compliance results in severe or fatal injuries.
• Do not modify or alter the device.
No liability or warranty for damage resulting from modifications and
alterations.
