Engine overheating
WARNING
POTENTIAL HAZARD
Removing the radiator cap when the engine and
radiator are still hot.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN
You could be burned by hot fluid and steam blown
out under pressure.
HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD
Wait for the engine to cool before removing the
radiator cap. Always use a thick rag over the cap.
Allow any remaining pressure to escape before
completely removing the cap.
Wait until the
engine has cooled.
Level is low, check the
cooling system for leakage.
Level is OK.
Restart the engine. If the engine overheats again, ask a
Regard dealer to inspect and/or repair the cooling system.
No
leakage.
Leakage.
Ask a Regard dealer to inspect
and repair the cooling system.
Add coolant. (See NOTE.)
Check the coolant level in the
coolant reserver and/or radiator.
NOTE:
If it is difficult to get the recommended coolant, tap water can be temporarily used, provided that it is
changed to the recommended coolant as soon as possible.
