5.1.
Requirements of the Setup Location
• Place the Raclette8 on a stable surface beyond the reach of children and ensure that it is horizontal.
• Do not place the Raclette8 near or on hot surfaces (heaters, hot plates, or other heat sources). Danger of fire or
short circuit!
• Place the Raclette8 only on heat-resistant surfaces. Keep a safe distance from flammable materials such as nap-
kins, tablecloths, hanging cabinets, etc.
• Ensure that the power cord and/or any extension cord
• Does not cross over hot surfaces such as the stove
• Does not pass over sharp edges
• Is not kinked or bent.
Otherwise there is a risk of fire, electric shock, or short circuit.
• Also ensure that the power cord and/or any extension cord used does not hang down from the table or counter
so that no one can trip over it and cause the appliance to be pulled down.
5.2.
Before the First Use
• Please read the instructions and safety guidelines carefully before using.
• Remove all packing material, make sure that all parts as in Chapter 8 “Scope of Delivery” are present and in proper
condition.
• Clean the aluminium grill or granite slab, the pans, and the scrapers before the first use with a non-abrasive sponge
under warm water and some dish soap.
• There may be some natural variations in the colour or structure of the stone. This is not a defect and does not
impair the function. On the contrary, this just emphasizes the fact that this is a natural product and no stone is
exactly like another.
• Stone is a natural product and therefore has internal stresses that can cause cracking or even breaking if subjected
to rapid temperature changes. To avoid this, the following one-time procedure to release this internal stress is
absolutely necessary for the stability of the stone. Nevertheless, small cracks can arise in the stone during the
procedure or later which do not impair its function in any way. Small cracks are excluded from the warranty. The
colour of the stone may be changed in the process.
1. Wash the stone under warm running water with some dish soap.
2. Dry the stone thoroughly with a cloth.
3. Put the stone in a cold oven and set the temperature to 220ºC. Leave the stone in the oven for 40 minutes.
4. Switch the oven off and let the stone cool down slowly to room temperature (do not rinse with cold water).
